Awesome...ish

This song rocked...ish. If there was more rock, it'd rock. If that made any sense, good for you. I can tell that this is a peaceful song and can't have any strong guitars, but whatever. Something felt missing. Oh also, try doing the Final Fantasy 7 Boss Battle theme.

ZombiePosessor responds:

I wanted to make this a peaceful, relaxing song, kind of what I'd expect to feel in the Fairy's Fountain. A heavier version is in the works, patience.

Nice job..

But I've seen much better from you (like your MM3). This was cool, but I didn't hear much guitar, and it came in at random times. The string(s) were a bit too loud in a strange way, maybe if you had more guitar and softer strings, that'd be really cool.

ZombiePosessor responds:

Yeah, as I said, I didn't do much to this one. The guitars come in the same place they do in the SNES version of this song. I might re-do this one some day. Thanks for the review.

Awesome's not good enough.

This thing rocks. Since this is a cover, Originality is a bit tough, but still. This rocks since this is a really good guitars cover of this awesome song everyone loves. However, the drums didn't sound very natural compared to everything else. The guitars and pianos and bass had this mic-like feeling. The drums felt like they had too much clarity compared to everything else... which kinda bites. Either record straight to your computer by plugging in your guitars and keyboards to your mic jack and use something like Audacity or get a real drummer. And if you DO plug-and-record, sorry!

phoenixdk responds:

Thanks! About the drums, it's not really just a matter of getting a drummer... I could play it my self, but I don't have a drum kit, much less the space or equipment to record it! So no choice but the drum machine.. I could reverb it up to make it sound more like "real" drums, but I thought hey - it's a videogame cover, it's supposed to sound like a computer.
Guitar and bass was recorded through the line output of an amp, and the piano was recorded with a midi keyboard controlling a software synthesizer. All the recordings were then layered in Cool Edit (now bought by Adobe, under the name "Adobe Audigy") and mixed there.. same goes for all my covers by the way.

Headache

I think this is a great song, but... It gave me a headache cuz it was too... one note to the other. Don't like it. Sorry.

spawn28 responds:
